AQUA Conference 2012 Participant Beta Analytic Promotes AMS Dating Services

Miami-based Beta Analytic has joined the 2012 Biennial Meeting of the Australasian Quaternary Association (AQUA) to promote its enhanced AMS dating services to researchers in the Australasian region. The conference was held in South Island, New Zealand, from February 13 to February 17, 2012. The third prize for the Best Student Oral Paper was named the Beta Analytic Award.

Up to 70 researchers were expected at the AQUA meeting. Participants also joined the meeting held by the Snow and Ice Research Group in nearby Twizel. The venue of this year’s meeting was the Peppers Bluewater Resort in Lake Tekapo, a large glacial lake enclosed by moraines on the eastern flank of the Southern Alps.

Through this conference, ISO/IEC 17025:2005-accredited Beta Analytic aims to better inform AQUA members that getting AMS dating results within 14 business days is indeed possible. This is because Beta Analytic is a dedicated radiocarbon dating lab equipped with multiple machines and staffed by full-time technicians. The lab can provide results in two to six business days through its expedited services. Lab fees already include Carbon-13/Carbon-12 measurements, calendar calibration when applicable, quality assurance reports, and improved web access to past and pending analyses. Moreover, the lab keeps all results confidential. It has no co-publication requirement.
